About Melissa K Turley

Melissa Turley joined the faculty in February 2019 as an Assistant Professor. She is a proud Gator alumni of the University of Florida School of Physician Assistant Studies. She completed a joint degree program with the UF College of Pharmacy and College of Medicine earning both her Doctorate of Pharmacy and Masters of Physician Assistant Studies in 2005.

Dr. Turley has practiced in primary care in a variety of settings including rural and underserved health centers as well as college health. She has experience with pharmacy healthcare administration, electronic health records and quality assurance programs. She currently serves as a volunteer medical provider at the UF Mobile Outreach Clinic.

Dr. Turley academic interests include pharmacotherapy, interprofessional collaboration, and utilization of active learning modalities such as simulated clinical encounters and team-based learning. Teaching responsibilities include the Dermatology, Endocrinology and Pediatric sections of Introduction to Medicine. She lectures and facilitates group learning throughout the Physical Diagnosis and Advanced Clinical Practicum courses.

Dr. Turley is a member of the Florida Academy of Physician Assistants, the American Academy of Physician Assistants, the Physician Assistant Education Association and the Association of Standardized Patient Educators.
