The University of Florida and the UF College of Medicine School of Physician Assistant Studies (COM SPAS) are committed to fostering an educational and working environment that is safe, secure, and free from sexual harassment. Appropriate professional behavior is expected at all times by each member of the university. COM SPAS students are encouraged to report prohibited behavior to the COM SPAS administration including the COM SPAS Program Director, Associate Program Director, or Assistant Director; or the Senior Associate, Associate, or Assistant Deans of the Department of Educational Affairs; or to the Office of Title IX Compliance. Once reported, the complainant will receive information about the resolution options available to them, which may include investigation, informal resolution, and/or law enforcement reporting. All employees are required to promptly report an allegation of sexual harassment, sexual assault, dating violence, or stalking to the Title IX Office.
University policies, including Title IX policy, prohibit sexual harassment in all forms. Examples include, but are not limited to, “quid pro quo” or “hostile environment, sexual harassment, sexual assault, dating or domestic violence, or stalking. Behavior of this nature will not be tolerated and any individual who engages in such conduct will be subject to disciplinary action. Similarly, retaliation (intimidation, threatening, coercing, or violence) or other conduct discouraging a reasonable individual from filing a complaint, participating in an investigation, proceeding, or Hearing may be subject to a separate disciplinary action.

In addition to Title IX, the UF Regulation and Policy Hub may have additional policies that pertain to sexual misconduct and/or harassment along with their respective processes and disciplinary action(s). For confidential consultation, students are encouraged to seek assistance from the COM Office of Student Counseling, Counseling and Wellness Center, UPD Office of Victim Services, Crisis and Emergency Resource Center, or the Student Health Care Center.
