At no time may a learner be supervised, evaluated, and/or assessed by an individual with whom there is an intimate relationship. This policy extends to, but is not limited to partners, family members, and/or healthcare providers of the learner. When this type of conflict of interest exists, it is the responsibility of both parties, the supervisor and learner, to immediately disclose the conflict to the course director with a request for reassignment without retaliation. Failure to do so may be reported to the appropriate leadership and/or UF Title IX office for further action.
Conversely, if a learner is affected by an unwelcome relationship, unwanted advances, and/or other forms of discrimination or mistreatment, they are encouraged to report this behavior to the COM School of Physician Assistant Studies administration including the Program Director, Associate Program Director, Directors of Clinical or Didactic Education, or the COM Senior Associate Dean of Education Affairs; submit a Learning Culture Feedback Report, or directly contact the Title IX office. For confidential consultation, students are encouraged to contact the Program Director for Student Counseling and Development, Counseling and Wellness Center, Dean of Students’ Care area, or at the UPD Victims’ Advocate office.
