Tuition and Financial Aid

Cost of Attendance

Tuition rates are updated yearly by the Florida Legislature and the University and are subject to change. Current physician assistant student tuition rates are available from the UF College of Medicine Financial Aid Office.

*In-State Tuition Rate: $681 per credit hour

**Out of State Tuition Rate: $1,515 per credit hour

Note: Cost of attendance budget includes only those expenses associated with the student. Living expenses for spouse and/or other dependents are not recognized as part of the student’s standard cost of attendance.

Provisions exist for out of state residents to change their status to in state tuition purposes. Appropriate paperwork must be completed and approved by the Office of the University Registrar to obtain Florida residency status for tuition purposes. Please visit the UF Admissions website for details on establishing Florida residence.

Other expenses not considered essential to a student’s education or living expenses are the sole responsibility of the student. Examples of this include but are not limited to, attendance at conferences, membership in specialty professional organizations and optional medical databases or resources.

Students are responsible for their transportation, housing, and living expenses during their clinical year. Expenses will vary, depending on the location of each rotation site.

PANCE ($450) fees and licensing fees are non-UF professional fees incurred after graduation.

Financial Aid Application and Deadlines

Since the PA academic year actually begins during the last semester (Summer B) of one University of Florida academic year and continues through the first three semesters of the following University academic year (Fall, Spring, and Summer A), two applications for financial aid during the School of Physician Assistant Studies’ academic year must be submitted to cover the full four semesters of the PA academic year. Applicants do not need to wait to be accepted into the School of Physician Assistant Studies before submitting the first of these two applications and are encouraged to apply for financial aid for Summer B as soon as they submit their CASPA application.

The second of the two applications can be submitted any time after January of the year in which students will actually matriculate into the School of Physician Assistant Studies.
