The University of Florida School of Physician Assistant Studies (UF SPAS) conducts and documents a summative evaluation of each student within the final four months of the program to verify that each student meets all program-defined competencies required to enter clinical practice.
The summative evaluation includes the following components:
- End of Curriculum (EOC) Written Examination (medical knowledge, clinical reasoning/problem solving, clinical skill, professional behaviors)
- Objective Structured Clinical Exam – OSCE (clinical reasoning/problem solving, clinical skill, interpersonal communication, professional behaviors)
- Objective Structured Assessment of Technical Skill- OSAT (technical skill, professional behaviors)
Students are required to demonstrate successful completion of all components of the summative evaluation in order to graduate from the UF SPAS.
